雅思考试单词怎么背？—外教教你这么做

One huge problem students are having in preparing for IELTS test is an inadequate amount of vocabulary. Every day at Longre, I would see and hear many students grasping for words to be able to express what they want to say in class. Many of them spend hours in memorizingvocabularies but are still having a hard time in remembering them. Some students improve significantly but others seems like had just wasted their efforts. Here are some tips to help students memorize:
在雅思备考过程中，很多同学都面临着词汇量不足的问题。每天在朗阁，我想看到和听到许多同学在课堂上能够领悟单词，在对话中表达出来。很多人花大量的时间去背单词，但是却仍然记不住。一些同学进步很大，但是另外一些同学却收效甚微。这里给出一些建议，帮助大家记忆单词：

1. Keep a vocabulary notebook.

When you learn a new word, add it to your notebook, and write down a sentence that will help you remember how to use the word.
当你学到一个新词，把这个词记在你的笔记本上，并且写下一个句子，帮助你记忆怎么去使用这个单词。

2. Use a learner\'s dictionary. There are several excellent dictionaries for learners of English. These provide simple definitions and sample sentences to help you learn new words.

3. Choose words that are important to you. When you study topics and words that you are interested in, you remember them better.

9. Study word roots. Many English words have Latin roots. When you learn one root, you can often learn many new words．For example, the Latin root "port" means "to carry"，and this root is found in many English words like the following: export, import, and transport.

Learn prefixes．Prefixes are small groups of letters that you put in front of words to give them different meanings．For example, you can put in-, un-, or non- in front of many adjectives to give them a negative or an opposite meaning. The word "flexible" describes a person or thing that can change or be changed easily. So "inflexible" means just the opposite.
